Andrew Hall

Andrew resides in Riverton NZ, and has been a member of the band since 2013 when the band travelled to Nova Scotia. Andrew spent all his working life farming near Riverton in Southland. His farm carried sheep, cattle and grain.
In 1962, at age 20, he began learning the bagpipes under the tutelage of Gilbert Stalker, a well-known piper based in Waimatuku. Andy has played in the Waimatuku Highland Pipe Band ever since, and also spent three years as a piper in the City of Invercargill Caledonian Pipe Band.
Andrew joined the Pipes and Drums of Christchurch City in 2013 when it performed in the Royal Nova Scotia Tattoo. Since then, he has been overseas with the band on seven occasions. At age 80, Andy is (2022) the band’s oldest member.
