Kerry Lloyd
Drum Major (2009),
Kerry resides in Christchurch, New Zealand, and was the first Drum Major of the band,travelling to Libya, 2009.
Kerry started learning the side drum in 1977 under the tuition of John Dingwall at the Scottish Society Highland Pipe Band, competing in solo competitions until his first New Zealand championships in 1987. Kerry played with the band until 1991 and rejoined in 1999. Kerry then joined the Canterbury Caledonian grade 3 pipe band playing the side drum, and also took on the role of Drum Major. Kerry competed in the local and New Zealand Championships in Mace flourishing, winning the Drum Majors Championship in 2006 and 2007.
Kerry left the band in 2013, and in 2014 joined the Christchurch Metropolitan Pipe Band as Drum Major and side drummer until 2017 when he retired from competition bands. Kerry has also taught a number of Drum Majors in both drill and Mace flourishing.
