Peter resides in Christchurch NZ, and joined the Pipes and Drums of Christchurch City in 2022 when it took part in the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. He began learning the side drum at age nine in the Blenheim and Districts Highland Pipe Band.  He continued with the band during his school years with national contests and combined pipe and brass band music festivals being the highlights.  He also competed in solo competitions.

Peter took time out from drumming when he went to university in 2000 and trained as a pharmacist.  In 2005, he moved to Christchurch and joined the McAlpines North Canterbury Pipe Band.  In 2019, he transferred to the New Zealand Scottish Society’s No. 2 Pipe Band, which won grade 4b at the NZ National Pipe Band contest held in Napier in 2021.
