Peter Murray
Piper

Peter resides in Caloundra, Queensland, Australia NZ, and has been a member of the band since 2015 when the band travelled to Edinburgh. Peter is possibly the band’s most versatile and dedicated piper.  Born in Scotland, his early tutors included PM Gordon Speirs and PM John Roe (Scots Guards). He has played with several British bands, including: the 57th RAMC territorial army unit at the Duke of York's barracks in Chelsea, British Caledonian Airways (2013 and 2014) and The Blue Bonnets (founder member).

He has been successful in solo competitions and is a fine exponent of Piobaireachd.

In recent years, Peter has spent much time tutoring bands.  He also teaches piping in schools and has private students of all ages. Peter has played at numerous private and corporate functions in Scotland, New Zealand and around the world.  For example, he performed at the London Palladium for a full season, played for the film "Mary Queen of Scots" and provided backing music for the rock band "Cream".

Peter joined the Pipes and Drums of Christchurch City August in 2015 when it performed in the Tattoo at Edinburgh Castle.

Tours with the band: 2019 Edinburgh, 2019 Sydney, 2018 Crimea, 2016 Wellington NZ, 2015 Edinburgh.
